Saturday, September 3 3:00 pm Author Event with RF Wilson
The Rick Ryder Mystery series exposes the dark, gritty underside of life. Set in Asheville and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains that Wilson calls home.

Sunday, September 4 3:00 pm Author Event with Richard Von der Veen
“Where does it all begin?” is a question poet Richard VanderVeen asks Sunday, Sept. 4, at 3 pm at Blue Ridge Books in downtown Waynesville. From his book of poetry, Mr. VanderVeen has been asking that question for quite a while.

Thursday, September 8 5:30 pm Library Event with Fred Chappell
In celebration of Haywood County Public Library’s 125th anniversary, Chappell will return to his hometown to speak at the Colonial Theater in Canton. Drawing on childhood memories of growing up in Haywood County, Chappell’s work explores the Southern experience.

Saturday, September 10 11:00 am Author Event with Ron Rash
Ron Rash will read from and discuss his new novel, The Risen. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Two reserved seats are available with the advance purchase of the new book.

Saturday, September 10 1:00 – 4:00 pm Book Signing with Lawrence Thackstone
Lawrence Thackstone will be signing his mysteries in the bookstore. Stop by and pick up a regional thriller and chat with the author.

Saturday, September 17 3:00 pm Author Event with Caroline Duckworth and Bryan Lane

Tuesday, September 20 6:00 pm Library Event with Donald Davis
In celebration of Haywood County Public Library’s 125th anniversary, Davis will speak at First United Methodist Church in Waynesville at 6:00 pm. A native of Waynesville, Davis’ career as a storyteller has taken him all over the country as he shares the stories of Appalachia and his childhood.

Sunday, September 25 3:00 pm Author Event with Tim Barnwell
Tim Barnwell follows up his popular book, Blue Ridge Parkway Vistas, with Great Smoky Mountains Vistas. In Great Smoky Mountains Vistas: A Guide, with Mountain Peak Identifications, for What to See and Do In and Around the National Park, author and photographer Tim Barnwell combines panoramic photographs from overlooks in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, aerial photographs of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee, and articles on popular area attractions and activities to create this unique and comprehensive guidebook.
