Press release

Field & Stream, a retail store specializing in hunting, fishing and camping gear, is set to open its second North Carolina location at Asheville Outlets on Thursday, October 8th. Field & Stream will not only feature top brands, but also offer expert services to help shoppers make the most of their outdoor experience.

The four-day, grand opening celebration will get underway with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 8th and the activities will continue through Sunday, October 11th. There will be festivities and fun for the entire family, including live music and entertainment all weekend.

Asheville Outlets will be transformed into an art gallery on Friday at 10 a.m. for the First Annual Art Walk, benefiting the Buncombe County Schools Foundation. Artwork from area students will be on display through Sunday and all proceeds help support performing and visual arts programs in Buncombe County schools.

The Ingles Air Dogs Competition gets started Friday at 5 p.m. and continues all weekend as the dogs jump, catch, dive and retrieve. For a $10 donation, dogs that aren’t competing can still test their skills and jump in between competition rounds. Proceeds will benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

Area non-profits will have informational booths and interactive displays on-site from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday for Community Day. Shoppers will have the opportunity to learn more about a variety of charitable and civic organizations and their work in the community.
