Press release from event organizers:

Award-winning Asheville artist Corey C. McNabb will celebrate the opening of his River Arts District gallery and studio at 1 Roberts Street, Suite 201, in Asheville, on Friday, November 11, from 6-9 p.m.

Open to the public, the reception will feature vibrant paintings by McNabb, refreshments and a photo booth.

“I’m excited to join this supportive, talented community of artists,” McNabb said of the River Arts District, a popular collection of studios and galleries in historic buildings along the French Broad River. “I love having a creative space to both paint and display my work while meeting art lovers from around the world.”

An Asheville native, McNabb paints only with a palette knife, applying oils or acrylics to canvas, creating bold bright images with an impressionistic impasto style.

McNabb’s new studio in the River Arts District is located above White Duck Taco Shop in the Hatchery Building, with street-level access off of Roberts Street. The gallery is open Thursday-Tuesday from 11-5, and by appointment. In addition to showing his work, McNabb will offer classes, workshops and painting parties in the new space.
