The Polish Ambassador, The Human Experience and Wildlight shows postponed

Due the possible complication from Hurricane Joaquin, New Mountain has postponed its Friday, Oct. 2, lineup featuring The Polish Ambassador and The Human Experience, with Wildlight performing an afterparty. The shows have been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 9.

Press release from the venue:

Due to expected heavy rainfall as a result of Hurricane Joaquin, New Mountain Asheville has announced today that this Friday night’s Amphitheater show with The Polish Ambassador and The Human Experience, along with the official after party featuring Wildlight (a collaborative project between David Sugalski and partner Ayla Nereo) and opening set from Ayla Nereo, will be rescheduled for next Friday night, October 9th.

The rescheduling may come as a disappointment to some but New Mountain is not the only live entertainment organization affected by the serve weather. Leeway’s Home Grown Music Network made the call earlier today to cancel their 20th Anniversary festival this weekend in Mebane, NC. In their press release the event organizers explained, “Extreme wet weather has been hitting our state hard for more than the past week and with hurricane Joaquin expected to impact our weather even further this coming weekend, we feel that this could become a potentially life threatening situation and we have the highest regards for your safety.”

The promoters at New Mountain are committed to issuing refunds to anyone who purchased ticket and are now unable to attend due to the change of date. New Mountain’s Marketing Director Adam St. Simons shared, “While it’s unfortunate, these types of events do inevitably happen from time to time in the production of outdoor concerts. We are happy that a mutually satisfactory agreement was reached between our venue and artist teams, allowing for the show to proceed next week.”

The TPA Permaculture Action Day, originally scheduled for October 3rd, will also be rescheduled for Saturday, October 10th. An initiative established by Sugalski and Nereo, the TPA Action Days were developed to catalyze the energy of concert attendees and utilize it to help make positive change within each community that The Polish Ambassador performs. Projects have included community gardens, naturally built structures, water catchment systems, river cleanups, and reforestation efforts. More information on the action day can be found on the Facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1672656759617309/
