RiddleFest, an annual event celebrating Burnsville native Lesley Riddle and his contributions to country music, takes place at Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville on Friday, July 3. The festival, now in its eighth year, features musicians David Holt with Josh Goforth.

The 2015 RiddleFest will be held on July 3 at 7:30 at the Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville, NC. RiddleFest is sponsored by the Traditional Voices Group. Headlining the eighth annual event honoring the music and legacy of Burnsville native, Lesley Riddle, will be four time Grammy winner David Holt with Josh Goforth. Riddle collaborated with the Carter Family on many of the songs they later recorded. He and A.P. Carter travelled the southern Appalachians looking for songs that they carried back to Mace’s Springs, VA and with the help of A.P.’s wife, Sara and her cousin Maybelle, worked them up into recordable versions. Maybelle, possibly the most imitated guitar player in history, copied much of her technique from watching Lesley play. The RiddleFest sits down in the middle of the Playhouse three week-end run of the play, “Esley: The Life and Times of Lesley Riddle.”
