Feast for the Bees at Isis

Announcement from Asheville Bee Charmer:

To celebrate September as National Honey Month, Isis Restaurant & Music Hall will partner with Asheville Bee Charmer for a special evening on Friday, September 18.

The chefs of Isis will prepare a four-course dinner with locally procured honey, paired with mead wine by Bee & Bramble. Ticket sales benefit the Center for Honeybee Research and Bee City USA. Red Clay Revival will provide the evening’s entertainment.

“Every dish will be made/cooked with honey as well as the dessert,” says Lilliana Woody, co-owner of Isis. “This will be an annual event in support of bee awareness. We expect to reach far! Our mission is to encourage more attention and consideration to how we live.”

In addition to wonderful food and entertainment, Isis will also host bee experts who will discuss beekeeping, the lifecycle of bees, and how we can help reverse our declining bee populations. Presenter Sarah Eshan will be joined by other representatives from the bee community and research centers.

“We were thrilled when Lilliana asked us to join in; we offered up some tasty varieties of local honey for her talented head chef to begin his creations,” says Jillian Kelly, co-owner of Asheville Bee Charmer with Kim Allen. “Can’t wait to see (and taste) what he has cooked up for the event.”

Tickets (dinner and musical entertainment) are available for $65. Dinner will take place from 6–10:30 p.m., and reservations are only available in advance. Additional tickets for the band’s second show around 9:30 p.m. will be available at the door for $10.
