Mountain Xpress and Sherwood’s Music are partnering to showcase local musicians through a series of stripped-down performances for the web. In our second video, Elijah Wyman of Decent Lovers performs “I’m Happy All of the Time.”

Decent Lovers is both the moniker of Wyman’s solo performance and an autoharp-fronted pop band whose members include Thomas McNeely, Arlie Huffman and Miles Britton. Both Wyman and McNeely no longer live in Asheville (though McNeely returns frequently as one-half of melodic noise-rockers Albert Adams), but you can catch Decent Lovers in their final show in their current incarnation at the Moog Factory, 160 Broadway, on Wed., Jan 8, as part of the AHA AVL series.

For more information about Elijah and Decent Lovers, visit thedecentlovers.com or facebook.com/TheDecentLovers. To RSVP to their Moog Show, email aha.avl@moogmusic.com. Doors close at 6:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, so plan to arrive early.

This video web series is produced by Mountain Xpress and Sherwood’s Music. Check back on Thursday for a new video featuring Asheville and WNC musicians.

Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
