An invigorating joint performance in late 2012 compelled Sam and Zack DuPont to consolidate their solo efforts, pursuing with full force the artistic synergy they’d paid visits to before. Zack admires his brother’s ability to distill emotions through songwriting, calling him “a wild horse that bucks and sprints” and a natural focal point for attention. Sam, meanwhile, characterizes Zack as an egoless ally to the listener, one who “brings a quiet and focused confidence to each show” and draws talent out of collaborators. The DuPont Brothers’ mutual regard (and shared DNA) manifests in their seamless timing and effortlessly symbiotic vocals. It’s an audible bond that returns to Asheville when the two play an opening slot for local roots band Tellico at The Altamont Theatre Saturday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m. $12/$15. thealtamont.com.
