Blue Ridge Parkway After Hours Hike
“A Walk Back in Time”
(Asheville, N.C.) – Join Parkway rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 for a short, easy hike that is right in Asheville’s backyard. Come learn about some of the Parkway’s history and explore an interesting section of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Meet at Milepost 391, two miles south of Hendersonville Road (Hwy 25) at the dirt parking area on the east side of the Parkway.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring some water and prepare for our ever-changing weather.

“Day Hiking Do’s and Don’ts”
(Asheville, N.C.) – Join Parkway rangers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5th for an easy to moderate, 2 mile roundtrip hike on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.
Do you want to start hiking, but get too intimidated by all the fancy gear that you “have” to have? Would you enjoy the woods if you knew how to deal with animal encounters? Or are you too worried you’ll get lost to even start down the trail? Ignore your doubts, and let us teach you how to prepare for a fun day in our National Parks — no panic necessary!
Meet at the Sleepy Gap Overlook at Milepost 397.3. Wear good hiking shoes, bring some water and be prepared for changeable weather.
