All’s fair in love and war — including sexual revolutions. That’s the subject of Laura Westley’s autobiographical musical comedy, War Virgin. Following a fundamental Christian upbringing in small-town Florida, Westley attended West Point and joined the Army on the cusp of war. Thrown into a rough-and-tumble community of hyper-masculinity, Westley’s tumultuous coming-of-age in the desert liberated her soul and her sexuality. Laugh along with Westley and the actors of the Showcase Arts Foundation as her triumphant tale comes to life onstage. Westley is also releasing a book of the same title, and will sign copies after the shows. Catch War Virgin at the Altamont Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. Donations will be collected to benefit the American Foundation for Sucide Prevention. $20/$25/$35 VIP. thealtamonttheatre.com.
