Press release from the Saluda Downtown Foundation:
After careful consideration and for the health and safety of our community, it is with heavy hearts we announce that the 2020 Saluda Arts Festival has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
The Saluda Arts Festival is one of the city’s premier events showcasing its historic downtown. The festival features more than 80 regional artists and is attended by more than 5,000 residents and visitors. The annual event was scheduled for May 16 and this would have been the 17th year.
“This was a tough call, but we feel it was the right call for our community,” said chairperson Mary Meyland-Mason. “The health of our neighbors and talented regional artists must come first. We urge everyone to support the arts and crafts of the region by buying online. We hope our artists, sponsors, and visitors will rejoin us in 2021.”
Many individuals and businesses support the Saluda Arts Festival through donations and sponsorships. These donations and sponsor fees, along with artists entry fees will be refunded in the coming weeks. The event was also posted on many media event calendars and they will be updated.
The Saluda Downtown Foundation, Inc. sponsors the Saluda Arts Festival. The Saluda Downtown Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is dedicated to supporting the arts, cultural development and exchange, historic preservation, beautification, and economic development in Saluda.
