Press release from Earth Fare:
5% Giving Day will be held quarterly where five percent of the day’s net sales will be donated to support a local nonprofit or educational associations that align with their brand’s core values.
This quarter Earth Fare, Westgate will support ABCCM (Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry) in their endeavor of furnishing the kitchen at Transformation Village. ABCCM’s Transformation Village is a new 24 acre campus located off of Brevard Rd and I-26, providing 100 beds so homeless women and moms with children have a safe place. ABCCM offers hope and healing with life skills and work readiness training that leads to living wage jobs and permanent homes.
Earth Fare is excited to partner with ABCCM which is a key non-profit organizations addressing poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County. They have played a significant role in meeting emergency assistance needs for families in crisis, providing transitional and permanent supportive housing for the homeless; as well as work readiness, mentoring and job placement services.
“It is Earth Fare’s pleasure to work with Transformation Village this quarter for our 5% Giving Day. Being able to participate in their drive to end hunger in our community aligns with Earth Fare’s values and resonates, not only with our Team Members but our Guests as well,” said David Isinghood, COO of Earth Fare.
On August 19, five percent of the day’s net sales will be donated to ABCCM and staff of ABCCM will be present at Westgate for more information on their extensive work in serving our area. “Please join us this Wednesday in our Earth Fare Westgate Store and learn about Transformation Village and have 5% of your purchases go toward helping end poverty, hunger and homelessness right here in our own Community,” said Isinghood.
