Press release from Community Foundation of Henderson County:
Hendersonville, N.C., December 21, 2020 – Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce the release of their Annual Report for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2020. Overall, more than $4.4 million in charitable grants and academic scholarships were awarded to nonprofits and local students supporting a multitude of causes.
“This report demonstrates that Community Foundation of Henderson County continues to provide a structure for bringing together resources and ideas so that donors are able to make our community a better place today and for future generations,” said Foundation President/CEO McCray V. Benson.
During Fiscal Year 2019-2020, a variety of grants provided support for services at local organizations helping thousands of people in need. The Annual Report shares stories of several of those programs, highlights a generous philanthropic couple who was honored with the Foundation’s Sauer Charitable Leadership Award, and captures the details of the Henderson County COVID-19 Response Fund.
“In a year where our world was completely upended, we saw the giving hearts of our community come together to support one another. Philanthropy’s very meaning is love of humanity, and we have seen boundless examples of love that lead to healing. Now more than ever, philanthropy can bring us together to find solutions,” says Benson.
To maximize resources and be good environmental stewards, the 2020 Annual Report is available online at CFHCforever.org. If you would like a printed copy, please contact Community Foundation at (828) 697- 6224 or info@CFHCforever.org.
