Magic, buskers, chase scenes, romantic intrigue, a dark curse and the acting debuts of Free Radio rappers Austin and Johnny (along with other local celebrities): That’s all part of the forthcoming locally made movie, Swag, by award-winning film maker L. D. Donahue.
“Whitey and his girlfriend, Lianna are buskers on the sidewalks of Asheville, N.C. Trouble is; Whitey’s dealing drugs on the side. Fed up with Whitey’s world of criminal cohorts, Lianna seeks out a psychic to place a curse on Whitey’s stash,” says a description of the project. “A wild and crazy ride follows where people get shot, stabbed, electrocuted and run over by that damned ole train. As the mayhem unfolds below, an array of balloons drifts overhead on a mission of their own.”
The team behind Swag is in the process of raising $33,500 for cast, crew and equipment needed to complete the project. Learn more and donate here.
