AmiciMusic concerts on July 22-24

PRESS RELEASE:

AmiciMusic (amicimusic.org) will finish its summer season of intimate chamber music concerts with a special program entitled “GUITAR GUSTO” featuring an intriguing mix of music for classical guitar and piano. The performers are Steve Newbrough on guitar and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser on piano. They will perform works by Boccherini, Diabelli, Bolling, Rodrigo, and more in four different venues from July 22-24. Newbrough is a recent transplant to the Asheville area who was previously a member of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet. He is currently the Director of the Summit Academy of Music in Asheville. Weiser, who started AmiciMusic five years ago with a mission of breaking down barriers between performers and audiences through very intimate shows, has performed in over twenty countries around the world.

On Sunday, July 24, in the evening, AmiciMusic will also do an encore performance of its acclaimed “LIVE at the USO” show with singers Amanda Horton and Jonathan Ross along with pianist Daniel Weiser in a special fundraiser for the Saluda Depot at the beautiful Orchard Inn in Saluda. This program features great war-related songs from the 1940’s as well as scenes from the great musical of the period set during the war, “South Pacific.”

Purchase tickets and find further information for any of the shows below online at amicimusic.org. GUITAR GUSTO can be seen on Friday, July 22 at 7:00PM at Isis Restaurant, on Saturday, July 23 at 3:00PM at White Horse Black Mountain, on Saturday, July 23 at 7:30PM at a House Concert in Hendersonville, and on Sunday, July 24 at 3:00 at All Soul’s Cathedral in Biltmore Village.
