From a press release:
Asheville Sister Cities plans French Bastille Day event, July 13
Yes, the French did give us our iconic Miss Liberty that welcomes everyone into New York Harbor. Now Ashevillians have one more thing to thank for the French for… Bastille Day Celebrations!
This year’s Fête will take place on Sunday, July 13 from 3pm to 6pm at Metro Wines, 169 Charlotte Street in Asheville. The $8 entry fee at the door will buy you a first glass of bubbly, some delicious hors-d’oeuvres, and good conversation. An exciting silent auction filled with local treasures is planned, so bring your checkbook! This is a repeat of last year’s successful Bastille Day blast at Metro Wines, and is a great fundraiser for Asheville Sister Cities so come join the fun.
Sponsored by the Asheville Sister Cities Saumur Committee, Le Jour de la Fête Nationale Française!
For more information and to RSVP by July 9th, please contact Jerry Plotkin, Chair, at (828)782-8025, or by email: plotkingb@aol.com
