City of Hendersonville suspends disconnects amid COVID-19

Press release from the City of Hendersonville:

The City of Hendersonville is committed to the health and safety of the public and has suspended all utility disconnects for nonpayment.

“As our community comes together to respond to the concerns of COVID-19, the City has taken steps to ensure customers have uninterrupted access to utility services,” said City Manager John Connet. “Hendersonville Water & Sewer will be placing a moratorium on service shut-offs at this time.”

Additionally, the City of Hendersonville will begin the restoration of service to previously shut-off customers. Customers experiencing current water disconnections should contact the customer service department at (828) 697-3052 or customerservice@hvlnc.gov to begin the process of reconnection.

The City of Hendersonville encourages customers to stay current on their bill or to work with customer service personnel on payment plans. Late fees will be suspended to assist customers experiencing hardship due to COVID-19 and its economic impact.

Customers should limit their in-person visits to City Hall to conduct business whenever possible. When a service can be handled over the phone, by mail, or online, please use these options to minimize in-person interaction with staff and other members of the public.

The customer service department may be reached at (828) 697-3052 or customerservice@hvlnc.gov. The online payment portal and additional information is available at www.hendersonvillenc.gov/pay-my-bill.
