Press release from The Henderson County Tourism Development Authority:
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Henderson County Tourism Development Authority (HCTDA) is excited to announce that its tourism grant program is returning, with a goal of awarding several hundred thousand dollars to as many tourism-related Henderson County for-profit and nonprofit organizations who apply for funding as possible.
If your organization is interested in learning more about any of the grants that will be made available by the HCTDA for 2022-2023, you are invited to attend the Tourism Conference or to an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 26th at Cascades Mountain Resort, located at 201 Sugarloaf Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792, where you may drop in anytime from 3-4:30pm.
The funds, which must be used for tourism-related projects, will be available in three categories: Destination Marketing Grants, Destination Event Grants and Capital Project Grants.
Applications will be accepted from February 1- 28, 2022. Grant award decisions will be made in spring 2022 by the HCTDA Board members.
“We look forward to getting as many applications as possible because we know there are a lot of great ideas for projects and events that will continue to make Henderson County attractive to visitors while also making it an even more wonderful place to live,” said Michelle Owens, Executive Director of the HCTDA. “The mission of the HCTDA is to use our funding to market Henderson County as a destination, and funding projects and ideas that do that through this grants program is a great way to utilize the creativity, ingenuity and brainpower of the wonderful people who are already out there working to build Henderson County up as an even greater place to live, work and play.”
The HCTDA’s budget comes from occupancy tax collection, in other words, from taxes paid by the visitors when they stay overnight at a lodging property.
After January 20, 2022, additional information on the HCTDA tourism grants program and an application will be made available at www.VisitHendersonvilleNC.org/grants.
