Press release from The Hendersonville Symphony:
The 24th annual Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at Freeburg Pianos in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Students of voice, piano, or orchestral instruments (woodwind, brass, percussion or string) who qualify by age and residency may apply. The First Place winner will perform as soloist with the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, March 16, 2019 under the baton of Music Director Thomas Joiner for the Young at Heart program.
With the very generous support of the event sponsors, the LaBorde Eye Group and Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Pyles, awards for the winners include:
- First Place: $1000
- Second Place: $600
- Third Place: $400
Application Deadline: January 11, 2019

- $30 application fee.
