Press release from Asheville Area Piano Forum:
So… take a lovely drive to Mars Hill University to attend the Asheville Piano Competition Winners Recital sponsored by the Asheville Area Piano Forum. For those who don’t know much about this competition, It was started many years ago by Suzan Fehr and a few years ago the Asheville Area Piano Forum took over organizing it and expanding its geographical range. This year we have 19 teachers and 75 students from ages 6-18 competing Saturday, May 5th, for prize awards and the chance to perform Sunday May 6th in a public recital. All performers will receive judges’ written critiques of their performance from six highly qualified judges for the five divisions.
It takes an entire team to organize this and we are fortunate that we can hold the competition and the Winners Recital at Mars Hill Univ. We also are grateful for Alta Vista Wealth Management which sponsors prize money for the winners and the Weigel Foundation for contributing in memory of Eric Anderson Weigel who had been a 1st place prize winner in the Advanced Division.
If you have never attended a Winners Recital, this is the year to come!
