Music Academy of WNC launches middle school choral program

Music Academy of WNC

Press release from the Music Academy of WNC:

The Music Academy of Western North Carolina, located at 1411 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville, is launching a non-auditioned choral group for middle school students in September. The Serenata Chorale was created to give public and homeschool students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade a choral experience. Michael Ridenour, Music Academy Director, states “There are several middle schools in Henderson County that do not have a dedicated choral program. We created the Serenata Chorale to give interested public and homeschool students a performing choral opportunity that is non-auditioned. We saw a need in the community and added the Serenata Chorale to our ever-growing ensemble program.”

The Serenata Chorale will meet each Tuesday from 4:30–5:30 p.m., starting Sept. 17, at the Music Academy. The 12-week semester will end with a concert that includes all active Music Academy ensembles at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Blythe Street in Hendersonville on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. The Serenata Chorale is directed by Melanye Crayton. Tuition is $105.00 for the entire semester and includes music rental.

Registration is now open on the Music Academy website. For more information about the Serenata Chorale and to register, please call 828-693-3726 or visit the Music Academy of Western North Carolina website at https://wncmusicacademy.com/serenata-chorale.
