Beautiful You: A Daily Guide to Radical Self-Acceptance

Who would have imagined even five years ago that the cover model of the 2016 Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition would be a size 14? Or that Glamour would have a whole special edition devoted to chic fashion at any size? Or that Seventeen would offer their readers a Body-Peace Treaty?

The Body Positivity movement has made amazing strides over the last decade, but just like any idea in the glossy pages of a magazine or in a carefully curated Instagram feed, self-love and radical acceptance can seem just as unreachable as the Photoshopped beauty standards the movement is rebelling against. How do we approach changing the way we think about our bodies, our minds, and ourselves without becoming overwhelmed by the task of unlearning a lifetime of self-doubt?

The new edition of Rosie Molinary’s Beautiful You offers a revolution in bite sized pieces, asking only the willingness of the reader to try and accept themselves a little more every day. From changing your internal monologue to re-evaluating your media consumption, Beautiful You offers 365 concrete, actionable ways to engage in self-care, befriend your body, and find more happiness along the way.

Rosie Molinary will visit Malaprop’s on May 30th at 7 pm to discuss self-acceptance and Beautiful You because any day is a good day to start a revolution.
