The West Asheville stalwart Tastee Diner has been in business since the 1940s and not much has changed. However, a new owner means its popular breakfast will be phased out and in its place there will be lunch and dinner options.
In early June, under the new management of Jonathan Robinson and Natalia Rosero, the popular restaurant will reopen its doors. The new management team plans to retain some of the staff and says regulars can expect to see some familiar faces behind the counter to help ease Tastee Diner’s transition to a new menu and hours.
Tastee Diner’s lunch and dinner menu will be representative of what you would find at an old school diary bar with everything except the buns being made in house. The new management team says the menu will be simple with pattied burgers, hotdogs with homemade chili, hand cut fries, fried chicken, soft serve ice cream and shakes. Baskets featuring fried chicken will be a centerpiece of the new menu and buckets of friend chicken will also be available.
The new management team says customers can expect prices to remain reasonable and will also be adding alcoholic beverages to the menu.
LOL, following the same path of the Hot Shot and will end up with the same results. Problem is for uppity snobs is in their efforts to change their customer base to those that in their minds are more hip and therefore have more money to spend, they get rid of the base that kept the joint going lulz. So let’s get rid of breakfast and the customers, and put in their place fried chicken and market it to a bunch of people who associate such food with rednecks. Makes mucho sense to me lulz.
Dairy Diary Deary
I second lulz comments.
Without breakfast at the same prices; they shot themselves in the foot…. But if it’s to be one of the many new hippy joints in west Asheville; They’re not waking up til noon anyways….
