PRESS RELEASE:
On Saturday, November 19 from 4:00 – 8:00pm The Village Potters will be celebrating their 5th Anniversary Extravaganza. The Extravaganza will be their biggest event in their five-year history, with demonstrations of giant pot throwing, a Raku firing, a kazegama kiln opening, raffle prizes that benefit their student scholarship fund, and much more. The celebration is free and open to the public, and will be held at The Village Potters’ gallery and studio located at 191 Lyman Street #180, Asheville, NC 28801 in the Riverview Station building in the River Arts District. RSVPs are requested and may be sent to lindsey@thevillagepotters.com.
The Village Potters are Sarah Wells Rolland, George Rolland, Lori Theriault, Judi Harwood, Karen Dubois, and Dearing Davis. This intentional Collective of potters share a commitment to nurturing each other’s success, as well as the development and success of the up to 50 students enrolled in weekly clay classes, and 29 students enrolled in their Independent Study and Mentoring Program.
“When creative people come together with a common vision magic happens. The Village Potters is truly an exceptional place built on relationships, a love for clay and a commitment to each other’s dreams. We work really hard and dream really big! We are so excited to celebrate and share with each other and the community,” says Sarah Wells Rolland, co-founder of The Village Potters.
The Village Potters is a fully equipped Pottery housing five working professional studios, and includes three showrooms exhibiting and selling the fine, contemporary ceramic art of the permanent artists. The Village Potters Teaching Center offers ongoing classes for beginning and intermediate adults, with scheduled demonstration and hands-on workshops. The Independent Study and Mentoring Studio offers a directed mentorship program for the developing potter in a non-traditional/relational experience to help hone skills, and if desired, move into a career with a thorough understanding of business in the arts.
Congrats to Village Potters! Hoping to be there to help you celebrate your 5th Anniversary.
