UNC Asheville faculty authors Gary Ettari and Lori Horvitz read on April 16

Gary Ettari (author of Sentimental Over You) and Lori Horvitz (author of The Girls of Usually) are both faculty members of UNC Asheville. They will read from recent work on Thursday, April 16, 12:20-1:20 p.m.

UNC Asheville faculty authors Gary Ettari and Lori Horvitz will read from their recent books and discuss their road to publication from 12:20-1:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 in UNC Asheville’s Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum. This event is free and open to the public.

Ettari, initially trained as a poet, has published work in Gray’s Sporting Journal, Poetry Northwest and the North Carolina Literary Review among others. Currently, he is working on a romance novel set in Montana as well as a sequel to his first detective novel, Sentimental Over You (Moonshine Cove Publishing, 2015). Ettari is an associate professor in UNC Asheville’s Department of Literature and Language.

Horvitz’ most recent book, The Girls of Usually, was published by Truman State Press in February 2015. She has written short stories, poetry and personal essays that appear in a variety of literary journals and anthologies, including Epiphany, Chattahoochee Review, Saint Ann’s Review, South Dakota Review, Southeast Review, among many others. Her essays have been included in two Seal Press anthologies: P.S.: What I Didn’t Say (2009) and Dear John, I Love Jane (2010). Horvitz is a professor of literature and language at UNC Asheville and directs the university’s Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program.
