United Way of Henderson County hosts kickball tourney Sept. 9

Press release from United Way of Henderson County:

United Way of Henderson County announces a new initiative ideal for Henderson County small businesses. Small businesses play a critical role in maintaining a thriving economy. They are important to the success of United Way, as we endeavor to improve lives in Henderson County through education, financial stability, and health.

Small Business League members are an important, growing family of donors of United Way of Henderson County. The league was established to provide an avenue for small business owners looking to get involved in their community. Owners are looking for ways to stay connected, provide employee engagement and meet the needs of our community.

As part of the kick-off of the new initiative, the Small Business League will host an inaugural kickball tournament on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at Berkley Mills Park. The double elimination tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. and is only $84 to enter a team of 8-12 players. All local small businesses are encouraged to sign-up a team. Joining the league is not a requirement to participate. To find out more about the Small Business League or download registration forms for the tournament on September 9, visit liveunitedhc.org and follow the “Get Involved” tab.

Eleven local businesses have already made the commitment to fight for the health, education, and financial stability of Henderson County residents. Small business owners’ investments are helping ensure that more than 30,000 residents are getting the help they need.

“This is a community of game-changers, visionaries, and innovators. I am proud to live here and to partner with small business owners to do the work that is so important to the well-being and stability of our friends, neighbors, and families,” stated Tate Johnson, United Way Director of Resource Development.
