Warren Wilson College to host 19th annual Plow Day, Sept. 8

Press release from Warren Wilson College:

Celebrate horsepower. Warren Wilson College Plow Day, Saturday September 8th, 9am-3pm.

Asheville, NC – Aug. 18, 2018  — Doc and Dan, Warren Wilson’s Belgian draft horses, are the stars of the show on a day of working the land and remembering our roots. Join Warren Wilson Horse Crew and horse-powered farmers from all of over the southeast as we plow fields, haul logs and try out some traditional craft techniques (blacksmithing, weaving, herbalism).

A day packed with family fun includes craft demonstrations, a farmers market, old-time music, a cake walk, flower-crown making, and a lunch of Warren Wilson grown meat and veggies, and local ice cream. Admission to Plow Day is $3. Children under 5 are free. For more information, contact the Warren Wilson College Horse Crew at horsecrew@warren-wilson.edu. For directions click here.
