In photos: MLK Peace March and Rally

A procession, which began at St. James AME, arrived at Pack Square to kick off the annual peace rally held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an annual peace march departed from St. James African Methodist Episocopal church around noon. The procession met others honoring King at a rally in City-County Plaza, complete with music and speeches from community leaders.

The event was organized by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Assocation of Asheville and Buncombe County.
