Press release from Asheville Zombiewalk organizers:
The streets of Asheville will be rumbling with the word “Braaaaains!” this fall.
Grab your best tattered clothing and makeup. The Asheville Zombiewalk returns to downtown on Sunday, October 12th in a new location.
“We took a year off for thinking and regrouping. But the upcoming walk begins a new era of exciting stuff for Asheville zombies,” said event organizer Jim MacKenzie. “We’ve picked a new location to serve as our homebase this year and we think it’s perfect.”
The zombiewalk crew will release all the details of the walk to their website, ashevillezombiewalk.com , on Monday, September 15th.
But we’re giving exclusives to the press the week prior. For all interested inquiries, we have details on the event location, activities, and suggested route.
“The Asheville Zombiewalk is committed to remaining family friendly and free. We look forward to seeing a great group of zombies of all ages,” said media strategist Sarah Giavedoni.
The Asheville Zombiewalk is still looking for a few more “zombie friendly” locations in downtown that want to participate. We’re also continuously accepting donations and sponsorships. See our website above for more information.
“If you love and support zombies, we encourage you to come to this year’s event. This is our opportunity to show the community how much impact this event still has,” said MacKenzie.
The Asheville Zombiewalk requests all participants to please be safe, use common sense, and avoid illegal activities during the walk. It’s fun, it’s a spectacle, but the law still applies to our “Walkers”.
