Blues, soul, earth and heartache are packed into Anderson East’s poignant voice, which sits front and center on his 2015 album. And it’s hard to believe, considering the caliber of his rasp, that Delilah is the Alabama-born singer’s official debut. (He’s stashed a few of his earlier recordings away from the public ear.) East is now based in Nashville, home of the famed Bluebird Café, where producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton) took an instant liking to his live sound. Soon after, they traveled to FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Ala., for the home-state recording session that resulted in Delilah. East’s headlining tour in support of that album stops at The Grey Eagle on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 9 p.m. Los Colognes opens. $15/$18. thegreyeagle.com. Photo courtesy of the artist
