Asheville Mardi Gras announces 2016 winter festivities schedule

Press release:

TWELFTH NIGHT RINGS IN THE 2016
ASHEVILLE MARDI GRAS SEASON

Once again, Asheville Mardi Gras is bringing back the city’s longest winter festival! This year’s theme will be “Saints vs. Sinners”. Join us for an entire season that will draw all of this area’s most colorful, funky, and artistic people together to revel as a community.

Events to mark on your calendar for this year include: 12th night Wednesday, January 6; 8th annual Cajun Cook-Off Sunday, January 24; annual Parade and Queen’s Ball on Bacchus Sunday, February 7th; as well as krewe parties, events and happenings all over town.

Twelfth Night, always twelve nights after Christmas, kicks off the Asheville Mardi Gras season. During this celebration the current royalty will pass the crown to the 2016 Asheville Mardi Gras King and Queen. If YOU want a chance to be royal, simply come down to Club Eleven on Grove on January 6th. The party starts at 7 p.m. and the dancing continues until midnight.

This event will be $10 at the door, or FREE to all active 2016 AMG Members. Memberships will be available at the door. As always, costumes are welcome, but not required.

Asheville Mardi Gras is a social aid and pleasure club as well as an arts and culture group. Our purpose is to strengthen Western North Carolina’s community connections through promoting creativity, frivolity and celebration, based on the traditions of Mardi Gras. For more information on becoming a member and all AMG events, check us out at AshevilleMardiGras.org or join our groups page on Facebook. See you on Twelfth Night!
