Press release from
Attic Salt Theatre Company is hosting the most-fun throw-down you’ve ever seen!
A Lip Sync Battle Royale to raise funds for Children’s theater classes, upcoming productions and MORE!
Attic Salt Theatre Company is pitting performer against performer in the Lip Sync Battle Royale, slated for Saturday, September 21st at 7:30pm. This brawl of talent will happen at Attic Salt Theatre Arts Space, 2002 Riverside Dr., Studio 42-O. Be prepared to down some beer or wine, bid on auction items, and watch some of Asheville’s best performers “compete” in what promises to be one of the most-hilarious spectacles you’d ever dare attend! Tickets are only $20 through atticsalt.org and all proceeds go to benefit Attic Salt Theatre Company’s productions and classes for the coming year.
The competition will be brutal, as we have assembled a crew of ruthlessness (and talent) like Asheville has never seen! Those competing for top prize are…
Asheville Community Theatre’s multi-multi-talented Carina “One-eye” Lopez,
Young and Scrappy Actress-about-town Gabby “Fresh Flow” Bailey,
Crimes and Misdemeanings star Chris “Tall Boy” Kingsley,
Asheville Poet Laureate and Raconteur Barbie “Dream House” Angell,
Local Director/Writer/Performer Candice “Slashy McSlasherton” Dickenson,
Asheville Improv Collective’s Resident Genius Joe “Mustache” Carroll, and,
LaZoom Comedy Tours’ amazing Carin “Cookie” Metzger! They may not make a sound of their own, but they are out to WOW you and the competition in this night of fun and games.
The tunes will be fresh, cheesy, old, new, rock, roll, rap, showtunes, funk and more! (And sometimes, maybe, all at the same time.)
The entire shebang will be hosted by Attic Salt Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Jeff Catanese.
“We’re hoping that we can put on a great show that has everyone laughing and singing with us,” says Catanese. “And that we can raise a lot of money for our classes and mentoring programs. We’ve had fundraisers before, but never one as off-the-wall and flat-out fun as this one. Join us!”
All funds from the event will go directly to Attic Salt Theatre Company programming. Attic Salt has a busy schedule, with a production of Dinner With Friends, coming in November, ongoing classes for kids and adults, and a lot of activity brewing for 2020. There will be drinks to drinks, auction items to bid on and raffles to be raffled, so don’t be afraid to drop an extra couple of bucks and know it all goes to a good cause.
Attic Salt Theatre Company is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and all donations are tax-deductible. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!Tickets for Attic Salt Theatre Company’s Lip Sync Battle Royale are available NOW through AtticSalt.org.
