September 17, 2015 (New Orleans) –On October 17, Freaksheaux to Geaux and the Tinderbox Circus Sideshow will descend upon the Crow and Quill in downtown Asheville for a night of classic sideshow, clowning, burlesque, and variety entertainment.
The New Orleans-based Freaksheaux to Geaux is spearheaded by Kali von Wunderkammer, award winning producer of Storyville Rising and the Southern Sideshow Hootenanny, the only large-scale gathering of sideshow performers in the southern United States and also features award winning variety entertainer, Chatty the Mime. Joining them for the evening is the mercurial, enigmatic Iggy Ingler, best described as a the bastard child of David Bowie and Hedwig’s Angry Inch, who moved to Asheville from New Orleans in 2013.
Also appearing is Lexington, KY’s Tinderbox Circus Sideshow, one of the few authentic touring “ten in one” sideshows in the country. An undisputed audience favorite at Asheville’s annual Americana Burlesque and Sideshow Festival, they bring the best of both classic 20th century and modern 21st century sideshow. Co-producers Captain Darron von Awesome (The Existential Extraordinaire & Pain-Proof Man) and Trashique (The Burlesque Anomaly & Mistress of Lift) have created the most mind-blowingly devilish backwoods troupe from the ground up.
In short, audience members are in for an evening of top notch variety entertainment featuring acts of daring, danger, and delight in the lush, intimate environs of the Crow and Quill, located at 106 N. Lexington Ave. More information about the individual shows can be found on their websites – www.Freaksheaux2Geaux.com and www.tinderboxcircussideshow.com.
