Press release from UNC Asheville:

TheatreUNCA will stage three one-act plays at the Carol Belk Theatre on UNC Asheville’s campus on Saturday, Nov. 19. The Tolstoy Story, a magical retelling of Leo Tolstoy’s Russian folktales for the whole family, will be performed at 2 p.m. The Nightmare WASP, a back-to-back performance of The Actor’s Nightmare by Christopher Durang and WASP by Steve Martin, will be performed at 7:30 p.m.
The Tolstoy Story is a celebration of traditional storytelling, adapted for a modern, young audience. The production is directed by student Kristin Addison and features an all student cast: Morgan Fuller, Julian Gonzalez, S. Quinn Morris, Leila Ouchchy and Katarina Pegram. The play is produced by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.

The Nightmare WASP begins with the comedy The Actor’s Nightmare, in which a hapless man finds himself performing on stage with no idea what he’s doing there, followed by comedian Steve Martin’s WASP, a satirical look at the archetypal American family. The Nightmare WASP is directed by students Justin Day and Caroline Dischell, and features an all student cast: Landry Bohn, Sarah Forshey, Gary Freedman, Konrad Sanders, Addie Starbird and Anna Zurliene. The Actor’s Nightmare is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. and WASP is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
Tickets go on sale Nov. 1; general admission is $12 for The Nightmare WASP, and $5 for The Tolstoy Story. For information and tickets, visit drama.unca.edu/theatre-unca, or call 828.251.6610.
