Celebrate the Rocky Ridge Trail Reopening with CAN’d Aid Foundation, Friends of DuPont Forest and Oskar Blues Brewery

WHAT: The CAN’d Aid Foundation provided Friends of DuPont Forest with a $12,250 Treads + Trails grant to support Rocky Ridge Trail renovation efforts in 2015.  Now the work is complete, the trail is ready and it’s time to celebrate the reopening of this multiuse trail for hikers, bikers and horseback riders!

WHEN/WHERE: Sunday, October 30 – REEB Ranch, 315 Shoals Falls Rd., Hendersonville, N.C. 28739

  • 4:00 p.m. – meet at REEB Ranch + caravan to trailhead
  • 4:30 p.m. – ribbon cutting at Rocky Ridge Trailhead
  • 5- 7:00 p.m. – food and Oskar Blues Beers at REEB Ranch

WHY: The ever-popular Rocky Ridge Trail in the DuPont State Forest desperately needed trail maintenance and restoration work to ensure long-term sustainability and use of the trail. Renovation efforts included a rerouted trail segment, road to trail conversion, basic maintenance and drainage work.
