Sinkhole questions? City provides some answers
Material poured into a sinkhole that appeared on June 19 in the parking lot of 1010 Merrimon Ave. was the cause of flooding at the Fresh Market shopping center at 946 Merrimon Ave. on July 11, according to a city press release. Sourcing the materials needed for a long-term fix will take a month. In the meanwhile, the city engineer proposed that a temporary bypass pipe be installed and topped with coarse gravel.
