AMOS closes through March 27

Press release from the Asheville Museum of Science:

Beginning Sunday, March 15, AMOS will be CLOSED due to public health concerns about COVID-19. The closure will remain in effect through Friday, March 27, at which time we will update our plans based on the conditions in the region, state and country.

As leaders in STEM education in our area we understand the importance of following the recommendations provided by our local, state and federal health officials, who are offering this guidance based on the very best scientific and medical information available at this time.

The health and well-being of our staff, visitors, and community has been our first priority. Since the threat, AMOS expanded existing strict cleaning and sanitizing standards to further protect the health of our visitors, both big and small. Currently, we are not aware of any visitor or staff member who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 nor do we have any evidence of exposure risk in the museum.

Stay tuned as we work hard to bring the joy of STEM leaning to you in your home. During this time, we will begin delivering daily doses of science in a new digital way!

Please stay informed and strictly follow all recommendations provided by the CDC as well as our state and local emergency and health services.

Check back for updates and consider a donation to support the museum during these challenging times. Generosity is also contagious.
