Press Release
From Brother Wolf Animal Rescue:
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is offering a full lineup of activities for animal lovers this whole weekend. “Both events are family friendly, and that includes the family dog.” says Denise Bitz, President and Founder of Brother Wolf.
ON SATURDAY, April 12th from 2-6pm, award-winning local brew pub, Wicked Weed Brewing is hosting a Release Party for it’s first-ever benefit beer, “Brother Wolf Feral Ale”. Ten percent of the sales will go to benefit Brother Wolf’s lifesaving programs.“ One of the owners, Rick Guthey says he’ll personally match whatever amount Wicked Weed raises to help Mollie’s Mission, a local 6 year old’s fundraising campaign for the Run for the Paws, reach it’s goal,” Bitz says. “So, we’re asking all our supporters to come out to the Release Party and help us make the most of it.”
“Wicked Weed just recently won gold at the Great American Beer Festival for one of their beers, Serenity. So, partnering with a national-award-winning, top local brewery in the number one Beer City in the nation is incredibly exciting and we feel very honored!”
The party goes from 2-6pm on the Tasting Room Patio and will feature local bands, Even The Animals and The Alarm Clock Conspiracy. Both bands are donating their time in support of this special event for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.
“I hope that friends of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue will come out and help us toast the animals, each other and the good folks at Wicked Weed for supporting our lifesaving work,” Bitz says.
ON SUNDAY, April 13th, hit the ground running for homeless pets at the 5th Annual Run for the Paws 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk and Wagging Wellness Fair at Fletcher Park.
Folks can still register at bwar.org to participate in the 5K Run or 1-mile Fun Walk. “Day-of” registration at Fletcher Park will be open at noon and close at 1:15pm.
“This is our fifth Run for Paws and it’s shaping up to be our best ever” says Denise Bitz “We’re having record sign-ups for the 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Walk from all over the southeast and folks are asking their friends and family to sponsor them.
“There’s even one little six year old girl who has challenged the community to help her raise $10,000 for her 1-Mile Fun Walk ‘for Brother Wolf to help some of the sweetest animals in the whole country and get them into really nice homes.’”
Brother Wolf volunteers are helping her put up fliers all over the city to promote her website, www.molliesmission.org. “Amazingly, she’s about halfway to her goal!” says Bitz.
From 1:00-4:00 pm, the Wagging Wellness Fair will feature delicious food and live music by The Hillbillyonaire$! Plus, there will be a Vendor Expo showcasing the many goods and services available to pet parents in our area, as well as a Kid Zone by the Carolina Girl Scouts, and even doggie nail trims!
For more information about either event, folks can visit www.bwar.org/events.
