Faerie Arts Festival at the Renaissance Hotel, Nov. 15

From a press release:

Faerie Arts Festival at the Renaissance Hotel, Nov. 15

This year’s Bioflyer Productions fundraiser for Eblen Charities takes place November 15 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Asheville. It will celebrate the holiday season with some of the region’s best artists and musicians. Daytime segment (3-6 p.m.) is family friendly with storytelling, costumes, magic show, Whee Ahh Faerie Kin, puppets and more.

Evening segment (7-11 p.m.) is adult-themed including Sarah Merrell’s exciting “Naughty Faerie Fashion Show” with DJ Sai Ofninth. Concert and dance will feature special guests Omingnome from Savannah complimented by their amazing lightshow. Headlining the evening will be one of our areas most popular bands, the gypsy rockers Sirius.B! Look forward to local organic chocolates, drinks and crafts by fantastic local artisans.

In the words of internationally acclaimed faerie artist, Brian Froud: “To dress as a faerie, donning wings, is to actively join in the dance, to be connected to creative spirit. Graceful or ecstatic dance; the radiant, rhythmic heartbeat; friendship; music; all these move easily across the boundaries, transcending language, race, and time.”

Bioflyer Productions has a history of mounting unique and progressive entertainment ranging from original rock musicals and talent competitions to Broadway hits such as JC Superstar, The Who’s Tommy, RENT, Footloose, and Spring Awakening. Artistic Director, Rock Eblen, continues to feature all his productions as fund raisers for The Eblen Charities.

Advance price tickets go on sale Oct 22nd at Malaprops Bookstore and online. Adult price is $10 ($15 at the door) with kids only $5.
