A very special Sundays Live@Aloft musical event on October 25th will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Aloft Asheville Downtown dog adoption program with live music from Asheville’s own Pleasure Chest. Held on the hotel’s rooftop Air Level, the event will offer an opportunity for a reunion of the program’s adopted dogs and their families. The W XYZ bar will feature local craft brews and cocktail favorites. Light snacks will also be available.

The free event is open to the public and will last from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A suggested donation of $5 will benefit Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue. In addition, this will be the 2nd Annual “Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume Contest”, and all guests are invited to bring their dogs in their best costumes to participate. The contest will offer prizes from Asheville Pet Supply, Pawsitivity Pet Spa and Patton Avenue Pet Company. First prize will be a complimentary one-night stay at Aloft Asheville Downtown. Asheville Pet Photography will be conducting dog portrait sessions for $35 and will be donating $15 from every sitting to Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue.

The Aloft Asheville Downtown dog adoption program with Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue has received national attention and been featured in People, O Magazine, Conde Nast and The Huffington Post and spotlighted by “NBC Nightly News” and “The Meredith Vieira Show”. The program has also become a model for other communities. McKibbon Hotel Management, which owns Aloft Asheville Downtown, is opening a new Aloft Hotel in Greenville, S.C., where a similar dog adoption program will launch in early 2016.

Pleasure Chest is an Asheville favorite playing blues, soul and rock and roll. Their lively performances are known for their energy and fun, and they have a strong following in the Asheville area.

Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of adoptable dogs and cats who would otherwise die simply because their time is up at shelters in western NC. The organization places animals into loving, forever homes via a system of transport to reputable rescues and no-kill shelters throughout the United States, as well as through local adoptions. Each one is cared for, loved and given food, exercise, socialization, basic training, vetting, vaccinations, heart worm testing and spay/neuter to become the best possible companion animal it can be.
