Support Smokies Fire Relief at Twin Leaf Brewery
WAYNESVILLE, NC – Enjoy a night on the town with Friends of the Smokies on Saturday, December 17 for a charitable pint night at Twin Leaf Brewery in Asheville. Sales of a specialty batch of ‘Purple Tater Majesty,’ a purple sweet potato Belgian Ale, brewed with pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon will benefit Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
100 percent of donations will support emergency relief efforts from the recent wildfires in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. These funds will help reduce the impact of overtime staff fighting the fires on the ground, supplement federal resources already being used and return the park to its full visitor capacity.
Information about Friends of the Smokies and Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be available. Attendees will have the opportunity to become a member of Friends of the Smokies and learn about ways they can help the park, all while enjoying Asheville’s vibrant beer scene. Redleg Husky, a country, bluegrass and blues duo based in Asheville will provide entertainment.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most-visited park in the nation, receiving 10 million visitors annually. Friends of the Smokies gives more than $1 million each year to fund critical projects and programs including wildlife management, historic preservation, and the Parks as Classrooms program.
