It’s time for local K-12 students to get creative! The theme for Xpress’ 2022 Kids Issue is “Simply Beautiful.” Deadline to submit art and writing for possible publication is Friday, Jan. 28.
Have you ever been on or dreamed of going on a big adventure? Show and tell us about it! Submit student art, essays and poems by this Friday, Jan. 31, to be considered for the 2020 Kids Issues.
Have you ever been on or dreamed of going on a big adventure? Then you’re in luck! For Xpress’ 2020 Kids Issues, the theme is “My Big Adventure.” Deadline is Friday, Jan. 31.
“Life chose me by a golden chance to have superpowers for just 24 hours, and I used them to revive our planet.”
What would you do if you had superpowers for a day? Xpress wants to know! Submit student art, essays and poems by this Friday, Feb. 8, to be considered for the 2019 Kids Issues.

“There is a pretty big problem in Asheville. It’s racism.”
“However, a problem that is often overlooked is children in hospitals or shelters without comfort. This is the problem I acted upon by volunteering for Project Linus and making a security blanket for a baby in need.”

Welcome to the online version of part I of Xpress’ 2017 Kids Issue, our annual feature celebrating the creativity of this area’s K-12 students. This year, we asked kids and teens to focus on the theme of “What Matters to Me?”
Each year, Xpress highlights the thoughtful and engaging creative work of area K-12 students in a special issue, which also includes listings of local and regional summer camps. The deadline to submit student work is Friday, Feb. 17.
