Hands On! Children’s Museum, an interactive gallery in Hendersonville that focuses on providing innovative educational experiences for children ages 1- 10 through programs, exhibits and workshops, has announced the following programs for January 2017:

- Tues. 1/3 – Fri.1/6; All day: World Braille Days @ Hands On! – World Braille Day is celebrated each year on Jan. 4th. Learn to write your name in Braille, experience Braille books and see how 6 dots changed the world. All ages. Sponsored by Drs. Alison & Richard Reid, Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. - Tues. 1/3 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m: Mad Scientists Lab – Gem & Jewel Goop! Ages 3 yrs. & up. Join Dr. Bunsen & Dr. Beaker in the Mad Scientist Lab as they make crazy concoctions. Mad Scientists Lab will be every Tuesday morning at 11 am January 3, 10, 17, 24. & 31 Free with $5 admission/free for members. Limited spaces. Please call 697-8333 to register.

- Wed. 1/11 11:00 a.m.: Book n’ Craft. All ages. Help Hands On! Celebrate our 10th year with the reading of 10 Little Naughty Monkeys by Suzanne Williams. Then make a monkey to take home. Free with $5 admission/free for members.
- Wed. 1/11 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.: Mad Scientist on Wheels. Join Dr. Beaker and Dr. Bunsen at the Main Library for science fun! Pre-registration required. Call 697-4725 to register.
- Thurs. 1/12 11:00 – 12:00 p.m.: Blue Ridge Humane Day! Come visit a special animal from the Blue Ridge Humane Society. Learn fun facts and take home a craft. This activity is free with $5 admission/free for members.
- Thurs. 1/12 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.: Mad Scientist on Wheels. Join Dr. Beaker and Dr. Bunsen at the Main Library for STEAM fun for teens! Pre-registration required. Call 697-4725 to register.

- Tues.1/24 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.: New Additions/Changes to Grocery Store. Hands On! is celebrating 9 years of sponsorship of the grocery store by our great community partners the Hendersonville Community Co-op. Come “check-out” our new additions and join us for a special program that focuses on “What’s in your food?” an exploration of the sugar, fat & salt in your food. This is a drop-in activity in the Party Room from 2:00-4:00pm and is free with $5 admission/free for members.

- Tues.1/31 – Thurs. 2/2; All day: Happy Groundhog Day on Thursday, Feb. 2nd! All ages. Try our step-by-step guide to drawing a groundhog! Build your competence as an artist! Free with $5 admission/free for members. Sponsored by Advocates for the Arts of Henderson County.
